"Make It Stop"

Blackout So despite everything going on, over the weekend, I wound up losing partial power in my apartment and since it wasn't an "emergency" I called the electric company today to come and see what's wrong. Well it rained so much today that major highways and the subways were seriously flooded that I am last on their list. So I'm stuck in the apartment waiting on them....
Waiting

Chatty Mom left a message for me this morning. Seems like they're ok. Still no power or phone service and I could only imagine the pandamonium going on down there with minimal if none food, supplies or gas. A 3rd hurricane may be on its way. Keep praying or lighting candles, heck at this point we may need to sacrifice something. I'm willing to offer up my brother, anyone got anything else they want to donate?

Chicken

It's a good day for me to catch up on my reading for school though. Am reading "An Understanding of Islam" by Karen Armstrong. I highly recommend it for those who have or would like to have a better understanding of the history and development of Islam. She's a former British nun and she really breaks it down well. For those you who watch PBS or educational shows, you may have seen her before. She's a real character, a regular kick in the pants.
Kick Me

Cat At least the cat is entertaining me as he does these weird and rather obscene things with plastic bags. All that
Dollar Smiley I spent on toys for him was wasted.

Maybe my hubby Hey Sexywill be back this Saturday, not holding out much hope though. If not it should be next week for sure. We're going on 6 weeks now. I forget what he looks like, you know? Like the little things or having someone sleeping in the same bed and stuff. Don't know how the cat (Buddy) will react to having another person in the house. He terrorized my officemate when she was here last week. Should be interesting....

Oh! I should have read a bit further. Well... glad to hear your mom's okay, even if she's still powerless. Here's hoping Ivan goes SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
