is the number of days it has been since I've seen the sun. It has been raining, cold, misty and foggy since Easter.
Someone's got my vote here
Thoughts and prayers are with the families who have family members and friends in Iraq right now. It is such a crazy, scary world.
I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of the way and let them have it. --Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890 - 1969)
Well guess who decided to show up for work today... Back from a lazy vacation in the Bahamas I presume....
At this point most of you know I work on Wall Street (BTW: who other than Pat reads my blog? If you are not Pat and you are reading my blog sign in and let me know...) ok, so I'm walking down Wall Street on my way to work. Something I do everyday, I walk past the NY Stock Exchange and up on my right side less than a foot away from me is a fully packed and armed S.W.A.T. guy. Again, not uncommon down here but I still can't get use to it. I almost turned around and ran, I just can't deal sometimes.
My Mom is freaking out a bit because I want to go to Morocco this summer and she is really concerned about safety. I feel I have as much of a chance as being taken hostage or hurt in Morocco as I do as having the same thing happen to me here on the subway. My train stop is right underneath the Exchange. I talked to Issame about it this morning and he felt I would be ok that if (God forbid) something were to happen over there, most people would want to protect me as opposed to harm me. I'll probably wind up going anyway.
Morocco here I come....
Mixing up the site a little bit...might make it public...have to check with the mister-man first.....
moroccan stew
originally about an imperfect moroccan-american couple trying to make good on what they've got but that turned out to be too scandalous for some. So now, it's about me and my interests in Moroccan culture, arts, politics and social issues. Don;t get me wrong, there'll still be some bee-ing and moaning along the way and oh, yeah laughs, ha! ha! certainly lots of laughs!
